We're showing you our new card game Ghostbumpers!
Our first trick-taking game comes from none other than Inka and Markus Brand and takes us to the fairground, let's go:
The monsters are making the fairground unsafe. You throw yourself into a crazy bumper car ride and try to keep your nerve. Who will be the first to get scared?
In this trick-taking game, you don't want to take too many tricks, because with every trick there's a risk that your character will get scared and the round will end. The braver and more risk-taking you are, the more points you can win.
After receiving your hand, you estimate how many tricks you're likely to win and use your Scare card accordingly. The better your prediction, the higher your chances of winning! But there are a few special rules that make this trick-taking game a wild ride, and things can get heated at the table!
For all fans of horror, there are a few Easter eggs scattered throughout the game. All characters are inspired by movie characters. We're curious to see if you recognize them all!
Inka and Markus Brand hardly need an introduction, they They live in Gummersbach, have two now grown children, and have turned their hobby into a career. They met and fell in love in 1999 and have been inventing board and card games together ever since. They both love trick-taking games. In addition to a weekly round of Doppelkopf, new trick-taking games are regularly brought to the table at all other game nights – such as "Ghostbumpers," which were diligently tested among friends for over two years.
The whole thing is illustrated by Annika Heller (me!). A game by Inka and Markus has been on my wish list for a long time, and the fact that it's also full of funny, scary characters is the icing on the cake!
