We already teased the contents of this expansion when we listed the items in the box on BGG. Naturally, the mention of 4 Standees led most to believe that there would be four new Deckers. While the expansion does feature four Deckers, there are only 2 characters. This is because, just as a SMC can have two sides, a Decker can also have two sides.
Let's start with Aki. Aki is a character who has fought her way through the worst SMCs and learned when to remain silent and when to strike. This is also reflected in her ability, which constantly adapts as she modifies or infects programs. If you understand her and play her correctly, she can be twice as effective – but this requires some practice with both characters.
The second new decker is River. He's the type who moves quickly but is also highly manipulative. This makes him at home in two areas and able to adapt well to different situations.
These new deckers give all players a larger toolkit of exciting characters to tackle the latest SMC. They offer new experiences, especially for fans who have already played many games, but also for newcomers who want to grasp the nuances of the individual colors more quickly.
